Pro Hunter Tip: #1
Not many people know about this, I may post a few more of these in the future.
Not many people know you can actually "fish" a Zamtrios!
What you will need:
A Frog, ( frog's can be found in area 1 of frozen seaway on all ranks. )
Smokebomb. ( Bomb casing + Ivy )
Zamtrios always spawns in area 2 and this is where the smokebomb's come into play!
Go into area 2 and lay down the smoke bomb and head immediately to the left and there will be a fishing spot. Get out your frog and toss it in, turn your camera around towards the Zamtrios and watch as he'll borrow under the ice and travel to the frog and you'll begin a fishing fight with him, succeed and you'll get a shiny, as well as a down for a few hits of extra damage
Happy hunting!

Pro Hunter tip #2
What you will need for this tip:
Expeditions Unlocked
You'll need to be in dundorma
Next on the list of hunter tips, this will require you to go to dundorma. You proceed up the path into the city and towards your left, there should be a body of water directly underneath some neat of netting, most people don't know that if you approach said fish, you'll be able to catch them! This isn't where the tip ends though, it's a lot more helpful then just that...
What is in there:
2EXCLUSIVE FISH!
There are coinperches which can be sold if you're low on money... pretty good if you ask me. They go:
Coinperch S: Can be sold for 150Z
Coinperch M: Coin be sold for 500Z
CoinperchL: Can be sold for 2,500Z
But.... there is an even better fish here. The dundorma tuna.... they're a big fish, so if you so happen to get one ( they're kinda rare ) make sure to mash all of the buttons to catch them without fail. ONCE YOU DO THIS, the expedition step comes into play. Make sure your tuna is in your bag before you leave.
Run to the end of the expedition area, and you'll excounter the veggie elder. Talk to him with your dundorma tuna and VOILA ... You have gotten yourself a slickaxe, one of the most useful items in the game.
Slickaxes can be used to replicate any ore/insect in the game, as well as the dragonbone relics/artifacts.
Have fun with this and Happy Hunting!
Edit!: I forgot to mention you can sometimes VERY RARELY, get a slickaxe in harth by the miner near the bottom right left side of the town.

Pro Hunter Tip #3
Epic Earth Crystal Farming!
What you will need for this tip:
A party of two people
Dung bombs
Loads of pickaxes
One with a charge blade with an impact vial
Other with a blunt weapon, such as a hammer
A guild quest of a basarios, preferably low. Make sure to bring lower tier weapons also.
Once you find the area with the basarios in ( He's usually underneath the ground with his back poking out. ) Tap his back and let the fight start, the charge blade user should charge 5 vial's and charge his shield, next he should have another 5 vials in stock to be able to do the special burst vial move when in axe form. Once this is done, the hammer user needs to trip the basarios, afterwards, the charge blade user needs to aim the burst towards the basarios head to knock it out and cause it to flip over on it's back for a second time, the game will somehow glitch out the position of the basarios in the area, making an pretty much infinite mining area for earth crystals, it will be invisible, so you may need to look around the area the basarios was knocked out... once you found it. Dung bomb the basarios and have fun!
Good luck and Happy Hunting!

Pro Hunter Tip #4
This tip only applies to maps that have a visible sky area, and to those who might've missed the tip later in the game.
These Areas Include:
Ancestral Steppe
Primal Forest
Frozen Seaway
Dunes
Did you ever see those Hot air balloons floating in the sky certain times whenever you're out hunting?
They actually have a function, go into your menu and select the "gesture" option from the menu, go to wave and make sure you're facing the balloon. Once done the balloon will show the monster you're hunting on the map for a few seconds.
Note: This only works once!
Have fun with this, and Good hunting!

Pro Hunter Tip #5
Pro climbing!
What you will need for this tip:
Nothing at all actually just your timing.
This tip is relatively simple, but useful in areas with cliffs that your monster may be taking advantage of, and so can you.
Ever want to climb a cliff but you have to sheath your weapon to climb up and maybe sometimes suffer a hit from it? Well you're in luck, you actually don't have to waste that time. All you have to do is roll towards the wall, and while you're rolling press A to sheath your weapon immediately and press Up slightly before B at the right time and you'll be up the wall almost instantly.
Note: You can also use potions and sorts on walls.
Hope this makes your hunts easier while around walls.
Good Hunting!

Pro Hunter Tip #6
Showing the Rath who's boss!
What you'll need for this tip:
Nothing at all, just your skills as a hunter and patience.
We've all fought our fair share of Rath's in the past and we all know they love to move areas a lot and are constantly an annoyance due to this being so, but that will all change.
Most of the maps that the Rath family appear in all contain a nest somewhere in the map, those are:
Ancestral Steppe: Area 5
Primal Forest: Area 8
Heaven's Mount: Area 8
Dunes: Area 5
Once you go into a quest in the following 4 areas containing a Rath, head straight for the nest in the area. Pick up the egg and wait, the Rath will then fly to you and you'll be able to fight it as you would normally. If it runs away, no worries! Have patience and pick up the egg again and they'll come right back and repeat.
Happy Hunting!

Pro Hunter Tip #7
Map Shortcuts
What you will need for this tip:
Just to be on the correct map at the correct time, this tip works on the following maps:
Primal Forest
Dunes (Night)
Primal Forest Shortcut:
This shortcut comes in handy whenever you're either in low rank or spawn in primal forest in later ranks. Whenever you spawn into the camp, simply turn towards your right and walk towards the opening and jump down into the Crevice and you'll be transported to area 3!
Dunes (Night) Shortcut:
This one requires a bit of....work, but it lets you jump a large distance. When in Dunes (night) head to area 3 of your map and you should see that the trees in the area have changed position, head towards the right side of the map as if you were facing area 7. There should be a ledge close to a tree. Jump onto that tree and continue jumping onto the trees in a straight line. Once you get to the third tree, look to your right and there should be a little ledge poking out from the mountain face. Jump towards it and you'll be transported all of the way to area 11!
Happy Hunting!

Pro Hunter Tip #8
Don't be pinned!
What you will need for this tip:
1: To be pinned down by a monster at any time.
2: Dung-bombs.
We've all been there, a monster gets a lucky pin on you such as a Rathalos or that special monster who loves combo'ing into pins... ( I'm looking at you Savage Deviljho. )
Well, did you know whenever the bar to be released from a pin shows on your screen you're able to throw a dung-bomb to release yourself from the pinned state?
Happy Hunting!
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Pro Hunter Tip #9
Make sure to eat Adamant seeds!
What you will need for this tip:
Any type of defense item such as Adamant seed or Armor potion.
To be fighting one of the following monsters:
Deviljho
Akantor
Seltas
As you all know that whenever you're fighting either 3 and get hit with a certain attack, your hunter will begin smoking. This is because the monsters have melted your armor. (Deviljho when he's drooling, Akantors mouth attacks, Seltas' projectile attack.) You will take major damage with the defense down state and it is extremely important to take notice of when fighting Akantor in G rank, as you will easily cart if it is not cured. Simply enough, just bring adamant / armor potions to you in battle and use one of them.
Happy Hunting!

Pro Hunter Tip #10
Don't miss a carve!
What you will need for this tip:
Just to be as quick as possible.
This tip only really applies to those bigger monsters that have multiple carves such as: Dalamadur family, Fatalis family and the Gogmazios.
If you crouch rather than stand for carving, you will cut your gathering time in half completely, allowing you to carve the entire body, head and tail of the beast you killed ( if you cut off the tail that is. )
Happy Hunting!

Pro Hunter Tip #11
Mosswine it up!
What you will need for this tip:
To bring some mosswine jerky with you the next time you fight a Seregios.
Since you can fight Seregios as early as HR this tip should be useful for a lot of people. / We've all been there, Seregios combos you and ends up inflicting you with bleeding, so then you need to run away to crouch / eat a steak for you to cure the bleeding... well, most people don't know that mosswine jerky can actually cure the bleeding, and has the exact same animation as the potion, so no longer will you need to let yourself be open for a cart!
Happy Hunting!

Pro Hunter Tip #12
Fishin' like a boss
What you will need for this tip:
Goldenfish bait / they have made from Mega fishing fly + snakebee larva.
Any fishing spot.
Once you are at a fishing spot and are after a certain fish in the area and you see that it isn't spawning, well. You wont have that problem anymore, simply take out your goldenfish bait and cast it into the water, goldenfish should appear. Take out the bait and the fishing spot will reset itself, repeat as much as needed until you see the fish you want.
Happy hunting!

Kelbi KO
What you will need for this tip:
A weapon that does KO damage that includes:
Sword and shield ( my personal recommendation )
Greatsword ( Sideslap attack )
Hammer
Light Bowgun
Hunting Horn
Lances
( sorry if I missed one )
This tip is specifically for people who would want to farm the rare kelbi horns. If you ever go into and expedition, select one of the above weapons to KO the kelbi, instead of killing it. You will then have a higher chance of getting a horn, mostly every time. This also works on the bigger kelbi species for blue horns!
Happy Hunting!

What you will need for this tip:
To be in Cheeko sands and in your hunter house.
In your award section of your guild card on MH4U, there will be an award on the second to the bottom right called "Golden Poogie: PROOF YOU HAVE SEEN YOUR POOGIE'S SPECIAL ACTION AT LEAST ONCE."
If it is still blank, go to Cheeko Sands and pick up your poogie and head outside to the beach, put him on the edge of the water and wait for him to do a little hop jump, and there you go! You have just gotten the Golden Poogie Award.

A nulberry a day, keeps the frenzy away.
What you will need for this tip:
To be fighting an apex / frenzied infected monster

As you're all aware of the frenzied status, it's pretty annoying that sometimes the monster leaves the area and you're not able to attack it enough, or there are no monsters in the area to cure your frenzied state, no worries. Just bring some nulberries along with you on the hunt, they will reduce your frenzied state by a great deal, letting you overcome the frenzy easier.

Paw's Hunter Tips #18
Outflashing the Flasher
Haven't done one of these in a while so I'd thought I'd start it up with 2 tips for today. The first one is for the infamous Gypceros, as I noticed many people having trouble with him and his subspecies.
Simply put: Make sleep meat.
Bring L Bombs
Bring one S+ bomb or/Greatsword/Charge Blade
This tip requires knowledge of where the gypceros is, once you go into his area, immediately crouch and lay the piece of meat down. Gypceros will more than likely be walking towards it at this point and should begin eating it, make sure you don't get back up from crouching as it will scare the Gypceros. He will asleep and now it's time to claim your bomb sleep damage bonus attack, place the bombs near his head to damage his flash emiter more so that you're able to disable his flash attacks faster. Step away and either place the s+ bomb away from the L bombs, or go for a full greatsword charge on the monsters head, or full charge blade vial attack.
*Happy Hunting!*

Paws Hunter Tip #19
Roars can't stop the IG
This next tip is very simple and is extremely useful for those users who use IG without any type of earplugs.
Whenever the monster starts to Roar, simply vault into the air as soon as it does, and your hunter with drop back down to the ground, therefore canceling the roar stun animation completely, this is useful against monsters such as gravios with very long roars, and diablos.
Happy Hunting!
